Eisteddfod Overview

Born out of an old Welsh tradition dating back to the 12th Century comes Western Australia’s largest annual festival of performing arts. The WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod is an explosion of dance, colour, music and fun.

The WA Performing Arts Eisteddfod Incorporating the City of Bunbury Eisteddfod is held annually at the Bunbury Regional Entertainment Centre and offers competitive and non competitive sections for all types and styles of dance, music and drama. For three weeks every June, approximately 6000 participants compete and perform in more than 2000 items, covering the full spectrum of the performing arts and offering growing audiences high quality performances at affordable prices. There are fantastic prizes (Adobe PDF, 500kb) on offer and the whole event is held in the professional theatre and promoted throughout the South West.
